Waltz is one of the most beautiful ballroom dances and it’s also a great one to start with because the rhythm is so easy. There are no pauses. You shift your weight on every beat.
Plus, once you’ve learned the basic step in waltz, it’s much easier to translate it to other rhythms for some of the other dances you might want to learn next.
My favorite part is at 1:53 where my partner inadvertently demonstrates the mistake everyone makes when first learning the box step, and moves right through it like a champ! So proud!

She is a miracle worker! While my wife is an incredible dancer, I have no rhythm and we had never really slow danced together, other than the slow dance shuffle that anyone who doesn't know how to dance does. In about five sessions, LaurieAnn taught us the Fox Trot, as well as an inside and outside turn and cute intro, which looked so elegant and as if we had danced together for years.
